OOTD: Mixed Prints

Get more impact out of your patterned pieces by mixing prints.

The life of a blogger took me to a grand opening shindig at Adiva’s Boutique (more about that in a minute). I shopped my closet and thankfully found a bold pair of tropical print pants and a blouse that needed a little styling to go from work chic to weekend glam.

Top – Dots / Pants – Madrag / Vegan clutch / Ring – Heidi Daus / Cami – Ashley Stewart /

WHY IT WORKS:

Do mix prints like a pro, you need a dominant pattern which is busier and more eye-catching (the pants).  You also need a recessive pattern(s) that are smaller scale patterns or less detailed (the shirt & clutch).  You should also work in the same color scheme. See how the tan and black striped shirt has the same colors as the leopard print in the pants?  The clutch also echoes the black print.

By the way, you may recognize the pendant from my Kimono Duster OOTD post (click here)

I really want to hear from you though, do you mix your prints? Please leave me a comment below and keep in touch ^_^

I'd luv to hear from ya!
